For all those budding youngsters hoping to get noticed in the Motocross world, the full list of dates for the 2009 British Youth Motocross Championship are here...
Once more the Championship will be visiting venues in all corners of the Country, including at least two venues that will form part of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship – Brampton, Cumbria and, one of the most popular additions to the ‘08 Maxxis Championship, a final Round at Foxhill, Wiltshire.
In addition to the established Classes (Junior 65cc, 85cc SW, 85cc BW, 125 Open) there will be a new ‘Adult’ Open class for Clubmen, with 40 spaces open to ACU Junior Licence holders. The addition of this new class will allow parent and older brothers of the Championship riders to compete at the same events.
The ACU will have a greater input into each event for 2009 to assist the clubs of the ACU in maintaining the high standard of the series and the introduction of a Race Director will ensure consistency throughout the rounds.
The usual Championship Registration fee is £195, but any rider registering for the series before the 1st December 2008 will receive a £25 discount to £170. Registering for the British Youth Motocross Championship ensures you receive all of the up to date information regarding the Championship and entry forms for each respective round. In the event of your entry not being received the ACU Motocross Dept will contact you to ensure nothing has been lost in post.
The current finalised venues are as follows:
Rd 1 Mildenhall 28th/29th March 2009
Rd 2 Leuchars 25th/26th April 2009
Rd 3 Little Silver* 16/17th May 2009
Rd 4 Dean Moor 20th/21st June 2009
Rd 5 Cusses Gorse* 18/19th July 2009
Rd 6 Brampton 29th/30th August 2009
Rd 7 Foxhill* 12th/13th September 2009
The early Rounds have been selected to run on sand tracks in order to allow a greater chance of running in the event of severe weather, something that proved worthwhile during 2008!
The ACU have listened to the comments made by Teams/rider in 2008 and have increased the blocks of racing from three to four in all classes.
