Snow had a Silver-lining!

Sammy Miller – MBE

Worthy winners all! - Youth Trials Champs Review
Published: 02nd January 2009 ONE thing is certain, the boys who won the five championships in the ACU 2008 Youth National trials series were worthy winners. Make no mistake, all the classes, apart from Richard Sadler’s Class B title, were fought right down to the wire. The British weather pattern this year has put pressure on all the organisers, from the extreme icy conditions in February to the torrential rain in October. |

Death of Vic Scriven

Published: 18th December 2008 FOR the 67th staging of the Southern Experts Trial, annual organisers Sunbeam MCC Ltd joined forces with Stroud Valley MC. The venue selected for the 2008 event was Nympsfield on land, which in years gone by had been better known for staging the National Cotswold Scramble. But with the scramblers now long gone though, on Sunday it was brought back to life as legendary trials champion, Steve Saunders, plotted a testing 15-sections which the 60-plus entry had to tackle three times in their allotted five-hour time limit. |

Brice was a cut-above
Published: 11th December 2008 BASSENTHWAITE and District Motor Club ran its Stanley Tallontire Memorial Trial on Sunday December 7 at Haltcliffe, Mungrisdale. Although temperatures had risen slightly, much of the venue was still in the grip of the recent cold spell with ice and snow, particularly on the ride over the top of the fell where the snow was still very deep and a bitterly cold wind kept temperatures down. |
